About Our School

W. R. Croman Primary School is located in the borough of Troy. Kindergarten through second grade students attend school at Croman. The school houses the elementary learning support and life skills support programs for the district. Other services that are available at the school are speech and language support and Title I reading.

W. R. Croman was named after William R. Croman, who served for 40 years as supervising principal of the Troy schools.  He came to Troy in 1915 as head of the school system, which was comprised of 9 teachers and 250 students. Mr. Croman retired in 1955, after 40 years of service. At this time, W. R. Croman Elementary School was named in his honor. Mr. Croman passed away at the age of 91.
