Lesson 4 (DP)

Standards: 1,2,3,4,5

Objective:  SWBAT move and echo patterns to a steady beat, create their own rhythmn pattern, echo basic diatonic patterns, sing a simple song with confidence, and identify the notes of the treble staff, play BAG songs on the recorder..

1.  Notes of Staff/ Kinds of Notes+rests mini quiz

2.  Circle- explain break policy, one word stories

3.  Create a percussion piece- each student selects their own percussion instruments and brings it to the circle.  We echo

                                               patterns, do a round of improv, and then create our own pattern.  Add a conductor to the

                                               mix, and we have a percussion ensemble!

4.  Singing- Sing Do, have everyone echo around the circle.  Return to seats.  Sing from America Sings

5.  4/4 card chanting

6.  Recorders- play through BAGCD songs, begin playing quiz on Shepherd's Hey

7.  Recorder improv intro

Assessment:  Observation, Verbal Feedback, mini-quiz
