Jeopardy Game UNIT Plan
MAC students will work with a partner to create a computer generated Jeopardy Game using POWER library electronic databases. Unit will cover 10 class sessions for Research and Design, and two-three for presentations.

Procedure:
Session 1
1. Librarian will demonstrate a sample Jeopardy Game using Power Point and relevant questions generated from POWER library, SIRS Discoverer.
Session 2
2. Explain the difference between using POWER and online search engines such as Google.
i.e.: Curriculum subjects, appropriate personal interests, and Lexile Levels
3. Demonstrate how to locate and use SIRS Discoverer Subject Directory
4. Group students into teams of two to three interested in the same topics.
5. Demonstrate, then practice how to “Trash or Treasure” notes.
Sessions 3-6
6. Use a Graphic Organizer to collect facts, answers and general citation.
Sessions 7-10
Evaluate fact gathering techniques to determine if the hints are too easy or hard. Students will discuss how to use inference to determine effective hints: Example: Africa can be described as a continent through which the equator intersects.
7. Once facts have been gathered, Demonstrate how to transfer facts to Jeopardy template.
Students will post on the Blackboard Schools web site to share information and merge into final product.
Sessions 11-12 Presentations
Students will play Jeopardy games and evaluate each other's questions.
