Hi my name is Mr. Schrader and welcome to my new technology home page! Stay tuned for exciting and innovated changes in this web site. We are off to a great start for the 2008 - 2009 school year and I expect it to be our best year YET.
| Kindergarten There are some special challenges this year for the kindergarten class. Along with the new computers we now have a new login sequence which requires the students input a user name and password. This will be especially difficult for the Kindergartners during the first few weeks of class. |
First grade We will be focusing on securing basic computer skills in first grade. We will spend a lot of time learning how to navigate different types of programs. We will also be getting creative in JumpStart Artist making a movie. |
| Second grade Will be exposed to several new programs and will learn about the basic parts of a computer. We will learn to distinguish between input and output devices and the location and function of basic computer hardware. We will also be learning how to install and uninstall software. |
Third grade This is a great year in technology class we start learning how to use Microsoft Word and Power Point. We will be learning how to properly and safely use the internet as a learning tool and how to protect ourselves while we are on the internet. |
| Fourth grade In addition to focusing on touch typing, fourth graders will be making a stop-motion movie. They will be taking an online class that I developed and have already been learning how to post and reply to an online discussion board. |
Enrichment This year technology enrichment will be focused on developing the touch typing skills of the fourth graders. We will be using a formal typing instruction program UltraKey and supplementing it with typing activities and typing games. |
