Troy HS Graduate parade route turn-by-turn directions:

*Students will start from one of three locations, please see below for those locations.

 

Group 1: Last names S-Z start at WR Croman, arrive at 4:45 (Departs first)

  • Turn left onto Route 14(Canton Street)
  • Turn right onto Route 6
  • Turn left onto Route 14
  • Turn left to enter Alparon Gate 1 Lane
  • Proceed behind the cow barns
  • Exit Gate 3

Group 2: Last names I-R Start at Point Spring & DriveShaft (68 Canton St), (Departs 2nd) arrive at 5:00

  • Turn right onto Route 14(Canton Street)
  • Turn right onto Route 6
  • Turn left onto Route 14
  • Turn left to enter Alparon Gate 1 Lane
  • Proceed behind the cow barns
  • Exit Gate 3

Group 3: Last names A-H Start at Terrace Lanes Bowling Alley, (Departs 3rd) arrive at 5:10

  • Turn right onto Weigester Street
  • Turn left onto Route 14(Canton Street)
  • Turn right onto Route 6
  • Turn left onto Route 14
  • Turn left to enter Alparon Gate 1 Lane

NOTE:

- Please stay in cars at all times; do not park, stop, or gather. At the end of parade, please continue out of Alparon Gate 3.

- Only cars and truck are allowed in the parade; no floats will be permitted.

- All vehicles may be decorated, but decorations must be school appropriate

- Banners with student photos will be distributed to each student prior to the start of the parade and should be attached and displayed on each car.

- All spectators are asked to follow CDC guidelines for social distancing.

Senior Events Newsletter - June 2020

Dear Troy Jr/Sr High School Students and Parents/Guardians:

 

We wanted to extend a huge congratulations to the Class of 2020! You are now part of the Troy Trojans Alumni! We are so proud of each and every one of you and cannot wait to see what the future holds for you all. We know it has been a difficult and different end to the year, but we have enjoyed the individual time we got to spend with each graduate and their families. The following is updated information concerning senior events, especially the Senior parade and Virtual Commencement Ceremony.

 

Senior Prom

 

- A video-slideshow was created and is currently on the TASD website, featuring the prom court and their individual biographies.

 

- Congrats to Prom Queen Hope Houseknecht and Prom King Robert Rogers!

 

Academic and Athletic Awards

 

- Students were recorded receiving their awards. The official Academic and Athletic Award video will be uploaded to the TASD website on Wednesday, June 3rd.

 

- Individual pictures and videos will also be emailed to students. Please check your school email for these on Wednesday, June 3rd.

 

Graduation Parade

 

- Friday, June 5th at 5:30pm:

 

  • Start at Croman, the bowling alley or Point Spring Drive Shaft depending on your last name (see attached document for details); 
  •  End at the Jr/Sr High parking lot.  

 

- Expectations for social distancing will be communicated and enforced.

  • Spectators are asked to remain 6 feet apart. 
  • Spectators are asked to wear a mask or facial covering. 
  • Students and families participating in the parade must remain in their cars at all times, even once the parade is finished.  
  • Please do not stop and/or park at the end of the parade – continue through and exit. 

 

- Students will be able to have some family members be in town and around the parade route to support them before they go home to watch their graduation ceremony.

 

Virtual Graduation “Ceremony” 

 

- Individual students came to the auditorium the week of Memorial Day

- The video compilation will be released after the parade on Friday, June 5th at 8:15pm so families can gather in their homes, watch the ceremony video, and celebrate.

 

Senior signs

 

- Individual double-sided signs with our Seniors’ pictures are displayed on the student parking lot hill, by the grand staircase at the High School.  

- A second set of single-sided signs with Senior pictures are posted around town.

- A third set will be distributed to Seniors for the parade, and they may keep those.

Dear Troy Jr/Sr High School Seniors and Parents/Guardians:
 
We wanted to provide you with a summary of what the school is planning regarding several of the senior events this year. Please see below for a breakdown. A big thank you to all the individuals who have been working tirelessly to make this difficult and unique senior year memorable for the students. It has been a real challenge, and although all these options might not be perfectly ideal, we are excited to honor our seniors in a unique albeit different manner this year.  
 
Graduation “Ceremony”
 
  • Individual students will be scheduled to come to the auditorium the week of Memorial Day to walk for graduation and physically receive their diploma.
  • Graduation regalia (cap, gown, etc.) will be provided to students on their scheduled day.
  • Each graduate will be allowed to bring up to 8 guests to accompany graduates and take pictures
  • Time will be staggered for social distancing.
  • A video will be compiled, including speeches.
  • The video will be released on June 5, 2020 at 8:15pm so families can gather in their homes, watch the ceremony video, and celebrate. 

 

Graduation Parade

  • Official parade start time: Friday, June 5th at 5:30pm.
  • Students will be given a time to arrive at Croman.
  • The Parade will start at Croman and end at Alparon Park - gate two.
  • Expectations for social distancing will be communicated and enforced.
  • Students will be able to have some family members be in town and around Alparon to support them before they go home to watch graduation 

 

Adopt-A-Senior

  • Each Senior will have a sponsor who will send weekly uplifting notes and small gifts to each senior.
  • They will sponsor the cost of each senior’s cap and gown and will buy a tee-shirt for each senior.  

 

Senior signs

  • Individual double-sided signs with Seniors pictures will be displayed on the hill by the grand staircase at the High School.
  • Second set of single-sided signs with Senior pictures are being made by Moose’s, sponsored by the banks in town. They will be posted around town. 

 

Graduation Banner

  • A 16’ reusable banner is being donated by Larry Colton and will be displayed in town. 

 

Senior Trip 

  • The original trip has been cancelled.
  • Hotel and Bus deposits have been made.
  • Seniors decided to cover the cost of deposits for Class of 2021.
  • Students will be refunded all money that they have paid for the trip.
  • Students are still looking into alternatives. 

 

Senior Picnic

  • An alternative is still being planned for the senior picnic.  

 

Academic and Athletic Awards

  • Academic and Athletic Awards will be presented to the students when they come in to walk / be recorded for graduation the week of Memorial Day.
  • School staff / administration will be available to present the awards to the student.
  • Families (up to eight people) may be present to celebrate and take pictures with each student.
  • A video will be complied of students receiving their awards, and the video will be released prior to graduation.  

 

Senior Prom

  • We will create a video-slideshow the prom court and bios for each student
  • At the end of the video, the King and Queen will be crowned.
  • The video will be released online on Monday, May 25th .
