         Dear Students,

Welcome to 4th grade!  I am very excited to spend time with you this year.  We will be working very hard, but we will be having plenty of fun.  This year in 4th grade you will be focusing on writing.  We will be striving to have neat work.  Working on letter formation, spacing and sentence structure will be important!  You will also be expected to memorize your multiplication tables.  It is imperative you learn 0 through 12.  This will enable you to complete lattice multilication work at a high level.  We will also be learning to divide.  Many students that enter 4th grade do not know how to divide.  You will be amazed how easy it is to master this operation.

Raising your educational level is also a high priority.  Every student that comes into my class will be challenged to improve.  We will be working together as a class, in partners, and in small groups.  Many of the science topics we work on are very interesting.  The science curriculim we use is very kid friendly!  Along with science you will be expected to learn many different vocabulary terms.  If you have had trouble in vocabulary, don't worry everything will be fine.  Many students that have had trouble in the past become great learners.   One of the keys to becoming an improved learner deals with improving your ability to recognize  key words and terms.

We will have an opportunity at the end of the year to travel to Harrisburg.  It is a tremendous trip in which students can apply many things they learned throughout the year.   Another trip deals with walking to the Farm Museum at Alparon  Park.  We always take a tour of the museum.  It gives the students a hands on approch to learning.

These are just a few things we will be doing this year.  I am very excited to meet you and your families.  Get ready for a great year and remember we are all individuals.  Everyone has different gifts to offer this great world we live in.  Thanks and have a great day!
