Superintendent Letter - Parent Message 10/5

First, let me thank-you for your patience and support during this remote learning shut-down.  We realize that remote learning through Caola is not the most desired form of education, however it does provide us with a core aligned content specific educational platform to use as instruction during remote learning.  We appreciate your patience and support as we continue to face challenges together this school year.

I wanted to share some good news with you.  Last week during remote learning we did not receive any new reported positive cases of COVID 19 within our Troy School District family.   As a result we are now able to start back to school with normal instruction on October 13th.  All extra-curricular activities will resume on October 13th.  In order for us to continue with extra-curricular activities, everyone must be following our masking requirements and social distancing requirements while attending events.  Please make sure you are following these requirements in order to prevent the complete shut-down of all extra-curricular activities.

October 12th is our scheduled parent teacher conference date.  This year parent teacher conferences are scheduled ZOOM meetings or scheduled phone conferences.  Please check specifically with your building level administrator regarding scheduling parents conferences.

Students will attend school October 19th – 22nd and October 23rd will be a remote learning day from home.  On October 23rd we will complete a deep cleaning of all classrooms.

As we continue to move beyond October 23rd and as long as Bradford county remains in the moderate stage we will follow this hybrid model of 4-days of in-school instruction and one day of at home instruction (Fridays) for deep cleaning.

Thanks again for your support and patience as we navigate through this school year together.

Dr. Eric Stair,

Superintendent of the Troy Area School District.
