Dear School Community,
I would like to take a moment and introduce myself to those of you whom I have not met. My name is Amy Martell and I am looking forward to working with you as your new superintendent of schools. I have lived in Bradford County for most of my life and I was a graduate of Canton Area School District. I was most recently the superintendent for Towanda Area School District and I am looking forward to serving the Troy Area School District.
I come from a family of educators and have a passion for helping all students to succeed. I feel that it is important for your leader to connect with the school community. Take the opportunity to brag to me about what your students are learning and show me your dedication to our learners. I hope to be visible in the schools as well as the community and look forward to building relationships with you.
Personally, I have three children ages 20, 18, and 14. My husband was a seventh grade math teacher and assistant principal in Towanda as well as the High School Principal in Northeast Bradford. You may know him now as the Director of the Northern Tier Career Center. In my own career, I taught grades 2-12 for over fifteen years as well as additional experience as a curriculum director and principal.
Last night I couldn’t sleep with anticipation of starting a new chapter with Troy. I thank you for allowing me the opportunity to partner with you in your selfless work to ensure that all students are receiving the best education possible and the best possible future. I look forward to settling in my new role very soon.
Amy Martell, Ed.D.
