Safety and Security Updates

Over the summer there were many safety and security updates that were completed in the District. There is a "Last Chance Bin" that is located in the front of the JrSr High School. This bin is available for students to leave any paraphernalia or weapons prior to entering the buildings. Security/Privacy Film has been applied to all windows in the school buildings as well as all exterior doors. There is now signage on the interior and exterior of all buildings for emergency responders. TASD also utilizes the Navigate Emergency Management Suite (Navigate EMS) Application that all staff members have access to and can activate an emergency response with the click of a button. The Navigate EMS system also includes a visitor management system that the district will be utilizing.

In the near future we are upgrading the railing at the High School main entrance as well as adding parking bollards for additional safety. We will continue to update the staff, students and community with additional safety upgrades.

Security Training Visit

The Troy School District Administration Team had the opportunity to visit the Pennsylvania School Safety Institute in June 2024. The Pennsylvania School Safety Institute (PennSSI) provided hands-on experiences and classroom trainings designed to address emerging security threats that may occur in our school buildings, on district property or at other locations where students and staff may be present. Our School District personnel learned de-escalation tactics in PennSSI’s state-of-the-art multiroom simulator and 360-degree augmented reality.
