Dear Troy Area School District Community ~
This weekend the Troy Area School District suffered a difficult loss with the unexpected death of a member of our district community. Mrs. Cindy Willmot, one of our high school English teachers, passed away suddenly after encountering cardiac events in the past weeks. Although Cindy was only with us for the past two years, she left a definite impact on our students and staff alike. Many of our students admired her and enjoyed her way of teaching them how to write and how to enjoy literature. Her passion for education and her connection with students was evident at all times. She taught her students with high expectations and ignited a love of the English language in all that had her as a teacher/mentor.
This is a difficult time for all of us. We will be offering support and counselling and will have counselors available at the high school building even as we begin our summer vacation. Remember that we all process grief differently, so please be in prayer and thought for all who feel the impact of this enormous loss.
