Parent Letter October 18th - COVID Cases

October 18, 2020

Dear Trojan Parents/Guardians, Students, and Community,

The intent of this communication is to notify our school community of two recent Covid-19 situations involving our school district family.

Yesterday, October 17th, a student at WR Croman school was deemed a “positive case” of COVID-19. The student is doing fine and following all protocols. We have contacted and notified all close contacts. The Department of Health has been notified and will be conducting contact tracing. Based on conversations with the Department of Health and local Health professionals, we have decided to provide remote learning to all close contacts.

Yesterday, October 17th, one of our staff members was deemed a “positive case” of COVID-19. Parents of students within close contacts have been notified of this situation. The Department of Health has been notified and will be conducting contact tracing. Based on conversations with the Department of Health and local Health professionals, we have decided to provide remote learning to all close contacts.

Our goal is to provide in-person learning for the rest of the students within our district, while taking the necessary steps to ensure everyone’s health and safety. We will still be providing transportation to our NTCC students even during our school-wide remote learning day on Friday, October 23rd.

Please know that protocols are in place to keep all students and staff as safe as possible. Our facilities are cleaned daily, including high touch and high traffic areas. We ask that parents continue to screen children daily before coming to school and keep them home if they are sick. If you have any COVID-19 related questions or concerns please call our building nurses, and they can assist you.

As a community, the key to our success is to continue working together as we strive to keep our students, faculty, and staff safe and healthy. Thank-you for working with us as we navigate through this pandemic together.

Sincerely,

Dr. Eric T. Stair

Superintendent
