Troy Community ~
I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to take a moment to address recent concerns regarding missed deadlines for attendance at the 2024 prom and other dances being created within our community.
While it’s regrettable that some deadlines were not met, it’s important to recognize that these deadlines are in place for a reason; to ensure the smooth operation and success of this wonderful event. Moving forward, I’d encourage any family or student to reach out to me so issues can be discussed.
I appreciate the efforts by the community to provide an alternative event. I also want to clarify that any dance event scheduled by the community that is not officially sanctioned by the district will not be chaperoned or endorsed by the district. We prioritize the safety and well-being of our students, staff and community and therefore any non-sanctioned event may not adhere to necessary safety protocols.
I do hope we can continue to work together to create a safe and thriving community and share in this memorable occasion for our students.
Dr. Janilyn Elias
Superintendent
